In the spring of 2023, 43-year-old Angela Craig was hospitalized three times with complaints of headaches and dizziness, but doctors could not determine the cause of the illness. After the patient's death, it became known that she had been poisoned with potassium cyanide and arsenic. It turned out that her husband James decided to get rid of the mother of his six children and start a new life.





James, a dentist from Colorado, USA, added poison to his wife's protein shakes. When he visited Angela, he would deliberately talk to the staff about her alleged suicidal thoughts. He tried to make it look like she had committed suicide.



The couple had been married for 23 years and had six children.

The 47-year-old doctor allegedly bought cyanide and arsenic online. He has pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder, and solicitation to perjury.

Prosecutors say he used his work computer to research how to disguise a murder as a heart attack and whether arsenic could be detected in an autopsy.

On March 13, 2023, James's co-worker discovered a batch of potassium cyanide, believed to be intended for surgical purposes.



It was established that the defendant had an affair at work and was seeking to start a new life.

The widower's lawyers said the police were biased against him. In addition, there were no traces of poison in the packaging of his wife's cocktails. They questioned the credibility of an inmate who said Craig had offered him $20,000 to kill the lead investigator on the case.

Prosecutors say Craig sent letters to a cellmate's ex-wife in the weeks leading up to the trial. He offered the woman $20,000 for anyone she could find to testify that his wife was planning to commit suicide.



Two previous attorneys dropped out of the defendant's defense, one because of Craig's alleged actions, and the other after he was accused of setting his own home on fire.

Angela's brother, Mark Pray, claims Craig was abusive and neglectful of her children.
