Thailand's famous pygmy hippopotamus Mu Daeng recently celebrated her first birthday. Her home zoo, Khao Kheow Zoo, near Bangkok, hosted a celebration. Mu Daeng received a huge, 20-kilogram fruit treat, which she shared with her mother.
As part of the celebration, the zoo held auctions where they sold Mu Daeng memorabilia, with all proceeds going to animal charities. Fans from all over the world came to see the hippopotamus for her birthday.
It is important to remember that pygmy hippos are endangered, their numbers in the wild are extremely small, and they can live up to 50 years.
