Teacher Drank Alcohol During Class and Made Children Dance the Macarena (5 photos)

Alice Ashton, a teacher at Ysgol Bro Caereinion school in Wales, UK, was drinking alcohol during class. The lesson got out of control and turned into a mini-rave with loud music, dancing and shouting. The student told the commission that Ashton was swearing, calling the entire class "little arseholes".





It has emerged that the teacher got drunk on the job just four months after being convicted of drink driving. Colleagues thought she was "smiling and happy," but students noticed oddities.

Notably, Ashton taught a course called "Personality, Social, Health, and Economic Education."







On January 17, a student sitting at the front desk smelled alcohol coming from a bottle of orange liquid. The 16-year-old schoolgirl told the hearing that the teacher turned on music on her laptop and began to drink the drink: "She smelled slightly of alcohol. She was very animated and actively gesticulating during the conversation. We knew her as a more reserved and quiet person. Alice Ashton had a bottle of Evian with orange juice, and she drank it often. Then she asked the class to dance the Macarena. Her mood began to change, she became irritated. One of the students began to walk around the classroom, she asked him to leave. She went up to him and showed him the middle finger, started swearing."

"She made us dance the Macarena, and she no longer cared about the lesson. The situation got out of control," added another student.



Ashton claimed during an internal school investigation that she did not swear or sing in front of the class. However, CCTV footage does not match her claims.

A British woman wrote a letter of resignation and changed her place of residence. She was excluded from the register of education workers, but in two years she will be able to apply for reinstatement.
