A man came to the aid of an possum
In the city of Monrovia, California, USA, a bear got into a house. The dog living in the house barked at the predator and hurried to hide.
The predator got into the house, breaking down the door, and met a 17-year-old dog named Doodle on the threshold. The bear waved his paw, but he dodged. After that, the animals sniffed each other. Doodle barked at the bear and ran away: he was too small for such an opponent. Their meeting was caught on video.
Having gotten rid of the interference, the predator went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. At that moment, the owner of the house, Zoe Cadman, finally woke up. She did nothing, and 20 minutes later the bear left.
The surveillance cameras showed that the predator was wearing a tracking collar. This indicates that he had already been caught breaking into other people's houses. Cadman's neighbor Lilly Martinez said the same bear ate ice cream and pizza in her friends' kitchen and then swam in their pool.
"It's part of life here," said Austin Hart, another Monrovia resident. He explained that the city is located near mountains, so predators often come here. At the same time, Hart noted that the bears are usually friendly.
Representatives of the Wildlife Conservation Commission reminded that black bears are currently actively roaming cities in search of food. They urged residents of the foothills to lock their doors tightly and use special trash containers that bears cannot get into.
