Pavel Durov decided to take care of the future of his descendants and brainchild - Telegram. In an interview with the French publication Le Point, he said that he had already made a will. The businessman is only 40 years old, but he understands how unpredictable life is with all its risks, so it is never too late to think ahead.

“Because of the protection of freedoms, many enemies appear, including in powerful states. I want to protect my children, as well as the Telegram company that I founded. I want Telegram to forever remain true to the values ​​that I stand for,” Durov said.

In the event of the businessman’s “disappearance,” a non-profit foundation will take over the messenger. The main thing is that Telegram continues to “exist independently, respecting privacy and freedom of speech.” Durov is the sole owner of Telegram with 100% of the company’s shares. According to him, this is “the only way to guarantee Telegram’s complete independence.”



“I learned a lesson from the history of VKontakte. As soon as you share control, you lose freedom,” he explained.

Durov did not leave his children without attention: according to the businessman, he has many of them: six from official partners and about a hundred more born from donating his sperm. The founder of Telegram recognizes these children from 12 countries of the world as his others, without making any distinction between them.

However, the heirs will not be able to receive money immediately after the death of their father (if Durov dies in the coming years). According to the will, the children will be allowed to access the state "until the expiration of the 30-year period starting today." According to Durov, he wants his children "to live like normal people," so that they learn to trust each other and build their own lives, and "be able to create, and not depend on a bank account."
