The owner of a carp with a human face had to hire security
A carp named Bob, whose head has spots that resemble a human face, became famous online in 2024. Over time, the fish became so popular that its owner was forced to strengthen the fence around his garden, install cameras, and hire security.
A carp named Bob, whose face resembles a human face, has become so popular in the UK that its owner was forced to hire security.
The unusual fish attracted attention thanks to the unique pattern of black, brown, and red spots on its head, which form a semblance of a human face. The carp has been living in a pond owned by landscape designer Malcolm Pawson for four years. The owner named his pet Bob.
According to Pawson, the carp has become a real celebrity. The fish, bought four years ago for £150 (about $190), is now being offered for up to £7,000 (about $8,900). However, the owner said he was not going to sell Bob. He noted that many people wanted to come and see the unusual fish, but he was concerned about the pet's safety. To protect the carp, Pawson installed CCTV cameras in the garden and reinforced the back gate. The man spent £2,000 (about $2,540) on the pond and garden, where Bob lives with other fish.
