Weighs about 100 kilograms: a Pole caught a giant catfish that is over 50 years old (4 photos)
In Poland, a fisherman caught a huge catfish measuring 252 centimeters in length and then released it back into the water.
The man said that this catch was the largest in his fishing career in his native country.
"Although this reservoir is known for its rich fish resources, such trophy specimens are extremely rare here. According to estimates, a catfish of such an impressive size can be over 50 years old and weigh about 100 kilograms," Chelkovsky emphasized.
He explained that he had dreamed of catching such a giant in his home ponds for years.
At the same time, despite the significance of the catch, the fisherman made a conscious decision and released the catfish back into its natural habitat.
It is noted that this is not the first giant catfish that a foreigner has caught - on the Ebro River in Spain, he caught a European catfish weighing more than 130 kilograms and 268 centimeters long.
