A tooth for 5 thousand dollars: the owner chose a gold crown for her cat
An unusual veterinary case has occurred in the United States. A cat named Tofu has become a social media star after her owner shared how she spent $5,000 on installing a gold tooth for her pet.
The story began when Clarissa's fiancé told her that Tofu's front tooth had cracked during a trip. According to the owner, the cat had cracked it while chewing on a wooden music box.
The vet offered two options: extract the tooth or install a hypoallergenic gold crown after root canal treatment. Considering that the cat is not yet three years old and is active, the family chose the second option. Bosman explained that she was worried about the pet's quality of life, especially during hikes and walks.
The cost of the crown is explained not only by the material (a mixture of gold, palladium, iridium and other metals), but also by the entire range of procedures: tests, x-rays, cleaning and pain relief.
