Americans have shown an electric SUV in the style of an old Range Rover with a price tag of $25,000 (2 photos)
Michigan-based electric car startup Slate Auto, which counts Amazon founder Jeff Bezos among its investors, plans to launch three co-platform models at once. Earlier this month, a two-door pickup truck was spotted in the US, and now the company itself has shared photos of a three-door SUV on social media. The manufacturer will reveal the first information about this electric car on April 24.
The car in the pictures partly resembles a classic Range Rover or, for example, a Rivian R3. As part of a marketing campaign, it was equipped with a special livery advertising a fictional veterinary clinic TheFelineTherapist. She has a website, CatThurrrapy.com, which is currently counting down to the premiere of the electric car.
The third Slate Auto model should be another, more angular SUV. According to preliminary data, it will be similar to the Land Rover Defender.
Slate Auto was founded in 2022, but until recently there was practically no information about it. It is only known that the startup employs former employees of Ford, General Motors, Rivian and Harley-Davidson. Earlier it was reported that the brand's first electric car will go on sale at the end of 2026 and will cost about 25 thousand dollars.
