Life imprisonment for a road accident (2 photos)

The incident occurred in 2022 in Lower Saxony. A woman in an Audi A6 with a 252 hp engine was driving along a country road and at one of the intersections noticed a Seat Cupra Formentor (311 hp) driven by a man. Both drivers decided to demonstrate the power of their cars and arranged a race. The dangerous maneuvers ended in tragedy.





According to the investigation, the woman accelerated to 180 km/h (while the permitted speed is 70 km/h), drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Nissan Qashqai with her family. As a result of the accident, two children died: boys aged 2 and 6. The parents of the children, aged 29 and 37, were seriously injured. The driver of another car was also injured in the accident.

Following the trial, the man and woman were found guilty of knowingly dangerous driving, which resulted in an accident and the death of young children.

The court found the 41-year-old woman guilty and sentenced her to life imprisonment, since her actions were classified as premeditated murder. The 42-year-old man received four years in prison for incitement to commit murder.

The accused was initially sentenced to six years in prison, but later the court reviewed the classification of the crime and sentenced her to the maximum term of imprisonment.



At the trial, the accused said that she did not want to kill anyone, knelt down and apologized to the parents of the dead children. According to the woman, she herself is a mother of three children and already has a grandson.

The woman worked as a cleaner in the prison of the city of Vechta. Co-workers noted that Eva liked to "step on the gas", that is, she preferred to drive fast. She was even given the nickname - "Shumi".

Forensic experts described her as a person who thirsts for recognition, egocentric, manipulative and prone to rebellion.
