An oddball assembled a lava lamp with real lava (2 photos + 2 videos)
A netizen went to an active volcano to get lava for his lamp. Then he built the world's first lava lamp with real lava inside.
British blogger Zak Alsop decided to create a lava lamp with real lava. To bring the strange idea to life, the blogger and his team went to the islands of the New Hebrides archipelago, where the Pacific state of Vanuatu is located. There they met Christopher Horsley, a volcano researcher who has dedicated 8 years of his life to this topic and now professionally leads excursions and shoots footage of eruptions for large companies.

Thanks to the researcher, Alsop learned more about the volcanoes of the archipelago, mastered equipment to protect against sulfur dioxide and temperature, and then finally went to one of the active peaks. Despite bad weather conditions and high risk, the team managed to take samples of lava directly from volcanic bombs - still liquid clots ejected during the eruption.
As a result, the blogger returned home and was able to assemble the world's first lava lamp with real lava inside. However, this is not quite what it seems - the lamp has retained its water and wax filling and original design, but inside there are now several crushed pieces of volcanic rock - expectedly, in a solid state. But, one way or another, the goal has been achieved.
