Spun in place: a surveillance camera captured a dust devil attacking a woman
A surveillance camera captured the moment a San Antonio resident, USA, found herself inside a vortex, often called a "dust devil." The footage of the unusual phenomenon has been viewed millions of times on social media.
Leslie Holt says that an ordinary work day in San Antonio, Texas, ended with a terrifying adventure that she will remember for the rest of her life.
"I was just heading to my car to go home after a long day at work. Suddenly, as often happens in Texas, a gust of wind picked up. At first, I turned my back to it, hoping to wait it out, but almost immediately it became clear that this was something completely different," Holt said.
Experts explain that dust devils are formed under special atmospheric conditions. However, scientists devote much less time to studying this phenomenon, because it is not as destructive as tornadoes or other natural disasters.
