The work of engineers invisible to us from the outside (4 photos)
In a world where there are already production cars that allow you to drive with one pedal — hello, weird-weird X-Trail e-Power! — this picture might cause the hearts of zoomers to stop. Millennials will be surprised, and perhaps even representatives of Generation X, of course, of those who haven’t scattered to cemeteries.
In general, no matter how you look at it, no matter how you zoom in on the picture, the fact remains that the 1949 Chevrolet 3100 pickup has six pedals. That’s how it is.
Will you, as they say, recount?
So, from left to right: parking brake, low/high beam switch, clutch, brake, gas, starter.
The perfect car for an octopus man. The two remaining tentacles can easily operate the steering wheel and gear lever.
The most interesting thing here is the invisible work of engineers who calculated the distance between the pedals. Both sideways and in height - every millimeter is important. After all, the driver could be a forester in rubber boots, a girl in Converse, or a conventional Uncle in flip-flops...
This is not about launching rockets into space, this is truly important and creative work.
