Without the Sun, all life on our planet would die out. We often admire sunrises and sunsets, because this wonderful spectacle amazes us again and again. But we cannot even imagine what it looks like from other planets. Artist Ron Miller imagined and created digital illustrations of fantastic interplanetary events.

1. Mercury

Mercury is 58 million kilometers from the Sun. That's why the sunrise on Mercury is three times larger and brighter than on Earth.

2. Venus

The Sun, which is visible from the surface of Venus, is 108 million kilometers away. Because of the dense clouds that envelop this planet, the Sun looks like a pale spot.

3. Mars

Mars orbits at a distance of 230 million kilometers from our star, about 1.5 times farther than Earth is from the sun. Strong winds blow on the Red Planet, which greatly impairs visibility.

4. Jupiter

This is what the Sun looks like from Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. Jupiter is 779 million kilometers from the Sun. Sunlight illuminates Jupiter with a reddish ring that passes through the layers of the gas giant's atmosphere.

5. Saturn

Saturn is one of the most easily recognizable planets. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 1.5 billion kilometers. The sun's rays are refracted by the abundance of water and gas ice crystals, which create the incredible phenomenon of a "false sun."

6. Uranus

On Ariel, one of Uranus' moons, this would be an unusual but also a fascinating sight. Here, the sun barely gives off any heat, as it is almost 2.8 billion kilometers away, which is 19 times the distance between the sun and Earth.

7. Neptune

This is what the Sun would look like as seen by Triton, Neptune's largest moon. Its distance from our star is 4.5 billion kilometers. Enormous geysers of dust and gas on this icy satellite obscure the small disk of light hanging in the dark starry sky.

8. Pluto

From the perspective of the most distant planet in our solar system, the Sun is little more than a small bright spot of light. Pluto is 6 billion kilometers from the Sun, meaning the light it reaches is 1,600 times less than what we get here.
