A man in China needed medical attention after his girlfriend's hand got stuck in his mouth

An unusual incident occurred in the Chinese province of Jilin: a young couple decided to make a funny video, but it all ended with a visit to the hospital and the participation of doctors in the “liberation” of the girl from ... the mouth of her own boyfriend.

At first, the idea seemed quite harmless to the couple: they wanted to check whether the girl’s fist would fit into her boyfriend’s mouth. The hand really did fit, but when the girl tried to pull it back out, the guy’s jaw suddenly spasmed. The muscles of his face contracted, and the hand was securely clamped in his mouth.

“Spittle was running down my arm all the way to my elbow. Honestly, it felt like my hand was in a meat grinder,” the girl recalls.

Attempts to free his hand at home were unsuccessful. The guy could neither speak nor close his mouth, drooling was flowing from him, and gurgling sounds were heard from his throat. The worst part was that the cramps caused her jaw to tighten so much that her teeth were digging into her wrist.

When the couple went to the hospital, the doctors didn’t believe what was happening at first. However, after listening to the story, they got down to business. Doctor Zhang Mingyuan explained that the cause was a spasm of the chewing muscles, which caused the “jaw to be trapped” effect. The more intense the pain, the more the muscles tightened.

To prevent suffocation or vomiting, the doctors turned on relaxing music and used a special dilator to open the mouth and inject a sedative directly into the muscle. After 20 minutes, the doctor managed to gently turn the girl’s wrist and free her using the natural mobility of the jaw joint.

The doctor warned: trying to force the jaw open is extremely dangerous. This can lead to nerve damage and dislocation.
