Avalanche Buries 57 Workers in Northern India

Dozens of workers were clearing snow for a military parade on the National Highway connecting Manu and Ghastoli when a landslide hit Uttarakhand on February 28.
Video footage taken by bystanders showed snow cascading from the peaks to the foot of the mountain.
Four ambulances were sent to assist in the rescue efforts. Rescuers said they have so far rescued 16 of the 57 trapped workers, while 41 are missing.
All those rescued are in critical condition and are being treated by medics.
