While we are all waiting for the official start of spring, the Japanese are not having time to deal with record snowfalls.

This winter has become a real test of endurance for residents of the Tohoku region (Honshu Island). It snows there almost non-stop.

The photo shows an incredible height of snow cover - 514 cm in Gassan Shizu Onsen.

As of today, the snow depth is: 5.6 meters in Sukayu in the Hakkoda Mountain Range in Aomori Prefecture, 3.82 meters in Morimon in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture,

3.31 meters in Hijiori, Okura Village, Yamagata Prefecture, 1.49 meters in Aomori City, 16 centimeters in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and 12 centimeters in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture.

This is not my sick fantasy, the proof is here.

Forecasters are already saying that Ishikawa Prefecture has recorded the largest amount of snowfall in the entire history of observations.
