7-Year-Old American Girl Spent $2,500 Without Her Parents' Knowledge (3 photos)
Amelia is only 7 years old, but she already knows her way around fashion brands. Recently, the girl took her mother Stormi Lee's credit card without asking and spent $2,500. The dismayed parent shared a video in which she tries to reason with her daughter. The video has gained more than 2 million views and is jokingly called "the best condom ad."
In the footage, Stormi scolds Amelia for spending $2,500 on her credit card. The woman asked what she had spent her money on, after which the girl proudly showed off her expensive online purchases. Among them were a pair of multi-colored Crocs clogs, Nike and New Balance sneakers. The latter are very popular and cost fashionistas about $150.
"You can't take my credit card - you shouldn't use my cards," Stormy said before Amelia shocked her with her most expensive order.
"How do you like this new thing? I bought it too," the young shopper was delighted with her Marc Jacobs bag, which retails for $250.
"American Eagle jeans, sneakers, Marc Jacobs bag, sunglasses," the mother began listing. "You're seven years old. You shouldn't know how to use a credit card."
"But I do know — that's why I bought all of these things," Stormi responded cheekily.
The woman tried to take away her daughter's iPhone, but Stormi threatened, "Then I'll break it."
The video went viral, with thousands of people weighing in. One person called the video "the best condom ad ever," and more than 7,500 people agreed by liking the comment.
Another added: "I don't know what's worse: these purchases or the fact that she already has an iPhone at 7."
Many criticized the mother and her inaction: "Amelia! Amelia! Damn it, start raising your child already!"
