Interrogation of a captured DPRK soldier: I didn’t know that I would fight in Russia
A captured North Korean soldier said that he did not even know who he was fighting against on the side of the Russian army. The corresponding video was released by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Censor.NET reports.
A captured mercenary from the DPRK (he served in a reconnaissance battalion) said that there were several soldiers from North Korea who were undergoing training in the use of heavy Russian equipment.
There were about 100 people on the ship that was going from the DPRK to the Russian Federation, he said.
"It was probably a Russian ferry. But not a military one, just for transporting cargo. Only we were (on the ferry. - Ed.)", - said the mercenary.
According to the North Korean, after finishing school, as a rule, all men go into military service.
"After finishing school, I also joined the army in the intelligence department. I was there my entire service. I was 17 years old. Not under contract, but compulsory... I myself did not know before I came to Russia that I would be fighting here in Russia. I did not even know who we were fighting against," he added.
The DPRK soldiers who were sent to Russia did not know that they would be participating in military operations against Ukraine. They believed that they were going to participate in military exercises aimed at simulating combat, South Korean Ambassador to the UN Hwang Jun-kuk previously said.
