Student builds the smallest arcade machine
An engineering student has built the world's smallest arcade machine. It plays Pong, an early arcade video game.
Victoria Korhonen, a student at Fanshawe College of Engineering in London, has printed, assembled and programmed a fully functional miniature Pong arcade machine herself, earning her a place in the Guinness Book of Records. The dimensions of the project are astonishing: 64 mm high, 26 mm wide and 30 mm deep, which is noticeably smaller than the previous champion (67 x 30 x 34 mm).
According to the budding engineer, work on the arcade machine took about 6 months - Korhonen constantly reworked the design, reprinted parts and selected colors. Moreover, all components are made by hand, except for the Arduino microcontroller. But even so, the idea required a lot of effort.
At the moment, representatives of the Guinness World Records company have already recorded the achievement of the tiny slot machine. If all the submitted measurements, plans and reports meet the requirements, then Korhonen’s project will receive the award in about three months. At the same time, this is not the first such achievement of the student - she previously got into the book by taking a photo with the world's longest selfie stick.
