Germans created robots to care for the elderly
German startup Devanthro has unveiled robots designed to care for the elderly. The remote-controlled robots can cook, clean, talk, monitor medication, and do more.
The updated Robody has an improved torso and arm design, as well as improved hardware that allows it to perform tasks such as cooking, helping with medication, finding objects, and talking.
The company is developing remote-controlled robots that will help cope with the growing demand for 24/7 care for the elderly. A recent study showed that with the help of constant supervision of the elderly, millions of pensioners could be spared the need for hospitalization.
Robody robots use artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and 5G technology to provide a fully immersive experience for the operator, which allows for effective remote consultations.
With a new design and improved control system, the robots have become more dexterous and comfortable for everyday use, including performing complex tasks such as cleaning or playing board games.
