How to travel on the "Symphony of the Seas" - the largest and most luxurious cruise ship in the world! (4 photos)
The Symphony of the Seas cruise liner carried its first guests four years ago. At the time of its launch, as it is today, it was the largest passenger ship: 361 meters long and 56 meters wide. Construction took more than two years and cost a pretty penny: one and a half billion dollars, no matter how you look at it.
The expenses did not end there. In Miami, a specialized terminal was built to service this outstanding vessel, since the number of passengers is excessively large; the existing port could not cope with such a flow of people wanting to relax - and this is despite the fact that all the tickets on the ships are never bought at once.
The port facilities are equipped with the latest technology. Everything, from control procedures, checking and loading luggage, boarding, is computerized, automated and allows seven thousand passengers to go through the procedures and take their seats according to the purchased tickets twice as fast as on smaller cruise ships.
By the way, about tickets: there are none, paperwork is a thing of the past. Instead of a travel document, an electronic file is used, downloaded to a smartphone and containing all the necessary information about the passenger.
Ergonomics, comfort and luxury!
Before starting construction, the shipping company spent several years designing and planning. That is why the liner is so ergonomic and comfortable – it is designed to prevent a large number of people from concentrating in one place.
For example, instead of an impressively sized swimming pool on the promenade deck, as was previously the case, here we are talking about several dozen smaller ones, equipped in a variety of ways and capable of satisfying even the most demanding public.
In addition, there is an impressively sized park planted with living plants. It has over twenty thousand tropical trees, shrubs and vines. During the day you can enjoy the rays of the sun, and at night - the sparkle of the stars and live music performed by a brass and string orchestra.
A "central gallery" runs through the entire ship from bow to stern, where magical celebrations are often held.
In addition, there is a hand-made carousel, so beautiful that both children and adults constantly ride it. There is also a play area, machines with soft toys, arcades and others.
There are as many as three stages - an ice stage, a water theater and a regular one, where guests of the ship can enjoy performances of various themes. However, on the first stage, performances are held only on weekends, while on weekdays there is a skating rink for everyone, with free rental of skates of any size and color. Those who do not know how to skate can be helped for a modest fee by a personal trainer.
Shopping without leaving your cabin
In fact, you will have to leave, but not far: on one of the decks there is a real gallery of shops and boutiques, where jewelry and watches, perfume, clothes and shoes from the most expensive world brands are presented.
There is even a casino on board the ship with roulette, dozens of slot machines, blackjack and other joys for an inveterate gambler.
All guests can eat in one of 54 food courts, halls, cafeterias and bistros, in the dining room with a buffet. 37 national cuisines are presented, pan-Asian and pan-European - for those who have not yet decided on their preferences and prefer something in between and without temptations. But this is in vain - in the kitchen there is a real competition for the attention of vacationers, so everything is organized at the highest level. In one of the establishments, a thematic exhibition has been implemented: the hall is decorated in the style of Carroll's work "Alice in Wonderland", so both the decor and the dishes are reminiscent of adventures in the Looking Glass.
In order not to get fat during the voyage, after lunch you can pay tribute to the sports equipment in one of the many gyms. And on the promenade deck there is a treadmill. To all this, you should add the opportunity to ride a windsurf, fly over the ship on a bungee or put together a team of football and basketball players. For athletes, there is even a separate pool where you can play ball.
Life 25 hours a day
The local ship spa can accommodate up to two hundred people who want to get a massage or relax in a sauna or bathhouse to relax their muscles before going to bed or to perk up in the morning. And so that children don’t get bored without their parents, dozens of options for children of different ages are implemented in different corners - from those who have barely learned to walk to teenagers who exude skepticism at any reason.
Feeling like having a drink or two? March to the bar, where the robot bartender, without asking unnecessary questions, will pour you a sherry brandy or mix a cocktail. Most of the local establishments have live music. Even one of the elevators has a grand piano, on which a well-trained high-class musician constantly plays!
When the ship was being built, it was often called a small town and was even predicted to become a real city, on board of which you can not only take transatlantic, Mediterranean or Caribbean cruises, but also live.
"Symphony of the Seas" looks like a real small city, while on board the ship you can easily forget that this ship is in the middle of the ocean. There are also night clubs with DJs and a unique dance floor: an aquarium with tropical fish is locked under a layer of soundproofing and vibration-proof glass.
In general, life is in full swing, and not necessarily on the head: in the USA it is customary to celebrate weddings and go on a honeymoon cruise, and the marriage is registered by the captain, which gives the ceremony a special flavor.
A trip on a liner is definitely worth trying! True, this is not a cheap pleasure: the most modestly priced tickets start from $1,500 and reach $80,000 (in this case, you will live in presidential apartments with a personal butler and maid).
