Australian woman comes face to face with a python in her own garage

Rachel Jelly, an Australian resident from Cooranbin Waters, got a real shock when she opened the door to her garage. A huge python dangled right in front of her face, forcing the girl to jump back.

The incident was captured on CCTV. The footage shows how the snake suddenly “descends” from the ceiling of the garage, exactly at the moment when the door opened automatically. Despite the terrifying encounter, Rachel treated the situation with surprising calm.

“I just wanted to get a few screws from the garage when the python decided to make its dramatic exit right in front of me,” Jelly said. According to the Australian, the snake has been appearing on her property for several years and seems to consider this place its home.

After the encounter, the python calmly returned to its usual place on the beam, and Rachel does not plan to interfere with its visits.

“He just came back up and made himself comfortable on the bar,” the woman said.

Australian pythons are usually 1.5 metres long, with a maximum of 2.7 metres. They are generally not a threat to humans, but their sudden appearance can easily frighten even the most cold-blooded.
