About 1,500 people came to see the car off on its final journey. To loud laughter and applause, the vehicle was lowered into a four-meter hole and covered with earth. The owner of the car said that it was a symbol of respect and prosperity for him. 
To perpetuate the memory of his car, the man plans to plant a tree at the burial site.
“This car was like a family member for us, and it brought us good luck,” he explained. 
The footage from the ceremony quickly spread across social media, causing many jokes among people who noted that “this only happens in India.”
