After two months of corresponding, Charlotte and Dave met for coffee and three years later they got engaged. At the time, the woman was 22 weeks pregnant.
33-year-old mother of three Charlotte Leigh wanted to commit suicide at Crossflatts station in Bradford (UK). 47-year-old driver Dave noticed her in time, stopped the train and got out of the cabin to talk. In the end, the woman was taken away by police officers to be taken to a local mental health service. However, no one suspected how this story would end.
The next day, Charlotte found her savior on Facebook to thank him for the kindness he had shown her during her crisis. The driver noted that he was always ready to listen attentively if she needed to talk to someone. So they began exchanging messages daily.
Later, after two months of correspondence, the couple met for coffee, and three years later they got married. At that time, Charlotte was already 22 weeks pregnant.
"Dave and I talked about life and everyday things, but that was enough to get through the crisis. Everyday life no longer seemed so hard. I set myself the goal of finding a man who would be as kind to me as he was," says the British woman, who was diagnosed with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and personality disorder, among other things.
In an interview with the BBC, Dave said: "I just wanted to know she was OK. I contacted the police to find out if Charlotte was safe. I felt it was my duty. There was an immediate rapport between us. It was nice to do something important for someone."
