A Batmobile without permission for public roads was put up for sale for 3 million dollars (4 photos)
Action Engineering is accepting orders for a replica of the Batmobile called Tumbler from one of the films in Christopher Nolan's trilogy about the superhero Bruce Wayne through an online portal called Wayne Enterprises. The starting price for the replica is $2.99 million and can grow significantly due to the extensive customization options. However, the Tumbler replica is not certified for public roads.
The replica is a complete copy of the original Batmobile in appearance. The car is based on a tubular frame made of aircraft steel, the components are also made of Kevlar, carbon and fiberglass. The Tumbler measures 4.7 x 2.8 x 1.5 meters and weighs about 2.5 tons.
The replica is powered by a 6.2-liter GM V8 tuned to 525 hp and 660 Nm, coupled with an automatic transmission. The wheels are 15 inches for the front axle and 18.5 inches for the rear. The two-seater interior has racing seats, 10-inch screens and air conditioning, and the customer can choose the trim.
The Batmobile replica is equipped with a jet engine simulator, active body panels, small arms mock-ups and a smoke screen system. Only 10 of these vehicles are planned to be built, apparently aimed at collectors. The project is said to be sanctioned by Warner Bros. Studios.
