Recently, many TV series have been released in which directors create real universes and worlds. "Back to the Future" is also a kind of mini-universe and a milestone in the history of cinema, which gave viewers a galaxy of bright stars and no less bright emotions.

Almost 40 years have passed since the release of the first part of the trilogy. But the actors who played the main roles are not going to go into the shadows and lead an active lifestyle and create, despite their age.

1. Dr. Emmett Brown - Christopher Lloyd, 86

"Back to the Future" (1985)

The role of Dr. Emmett Brown made actor Christopher Allen Lloyd (born October 22, 1938 in Stamford, Connecticut, USA) a star. But he also has roles in no less worthy and interesting projects, including Max Taber in the film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", Judge Rock in the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Fester Addams in the black comedy "The Addams Family", the Martian Martin in the science fiction comedy "My Favorite Martian".

And in total, their number has exceeded a hundred.

Lloyd was actively involved in voicing cartoons such as "DuckTales: The Secret Lamp", "Anastasia", "The Tale of Despereaux", and also voiced his character in all episodes of the computer game based on the film.

Christopher was married four times. His current fifth wife is not connected with the film industry and works in real estate. Unfortunately, the actor did not have children, but Lloyd is not upset. Two days ago, Christopher celebrated his 86th birthday.

Celebrating another year surrounded by beauty and love, which we could all use more of. I am deeply grateful to the incredible people in my life, especially my fans for their constant support. I look forward to seeing you again in 2025. We have a bright future ahead of us!

Both the photos from the festival, as well as from the Comic-Con festival held in New York from October 17 to 20, 2024, prove that he can easily give shape to the young. Lloyd does not lose his spirit and still loves his work, which is proven by last year's roles in the series "The Mandalorian" and "A Million Little Things".

2. Marty McFly - Michael J. Fox, 63 years old

"Back to the Future"

Michael J. Fox (real name Michael Andrew Fox) is a Canadian-American actor, in addition to the film industry, he is involved in producing, literature and is active in public life.

He was born on June 9, 1961 in Edmonton (Canada). In the trilogy, he played schoolboy Marty McFly. In the second part, he brilliantly coped with playing four roles at once - himself present and future, as well as his own children, and in the third he also appeared in the image of his own ancestor.

"Family Ties"

After "Back to the Future" he starred in the series "Family Ties". So successfully that he received three Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe.

In the 2000s, the actor went behind the scenes, mainly doing voice-overs. The reason was sad: for 10 years he hid the truth from the public and even his family, but then he made a statement. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when he was still young and full of energy - at the age of 30.

But Michael did not give up and founded a charitable foundation, the activities of which are aimed at finding a cure for this disease and helping patients. And he encourages people to talk about it:

In many cases, when you have a disability, you are faced with how other people perceive your experience and fear of it, rather than seeing the experience that you have. There is nothing terrible about it for me. It is what I deal with. It is my reality and my life, but it is not terrible.

Fox periodically returned to work: in 2010, he played the scoundrel lawyer Louis Canning in the drama The Good Wife, and in 2011, the actor took part in voicing the grown-up Marty McFly and his ancestor William McFly in the final fifth episode of the game series of the same name.

Michael married American actress Tracy Pollan in 1988. The couple has four children. Together with Lloyd, in 2022, they opened a store selling merchandise dedicated to the series. The colleagues designed all the products themselves.

Fox is also the author of several books, including "Better Than the Future: An Optimist's Reflections on Death. Autobiography."

The actor's career began with a cameo role in the NBC adventure series "Knight Rider". In 1994, Wilson met Christopher Lloyd again on the set: they starred in the comedy "Camp Nowhere".

The actor did not have many notable roles after the film trilogy, mostly secondary ones. But Thomas appeared regularly on screen, in such series as "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", "Nash Bridges", "Spies", "Two and a Half Men", "House M.D.", "Boston Legal", "Bones".

Together with his wife Caroline, Thomas raised four children. Currently, Wilson is interested in drawing and has achieved some success in this field.

"Back to the Future"

Crispin Hellion Glover (born April 20, 1964 in New York) played the role of George McFly, Marty's father, in the first part of the trilogy. The actor's first significant works in cinema were the films "Racing with the Moon" and "Teachers" in 1984.

The actor did not take part in subsequent parts, as he was not satisfied with the size of the fee. After the iconic role, Glover did not leave the cinema. Among the films in which he is involved as an actor are "The Accidental Con Artist" (2018), "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" (2018), "The Killer on Call" (2019). "Back to the Future Part III"

Oscar-winning Mary Nell Steenburgen, who played Clara Clayton, Emmett's lover, in the final part of the film trilogy, was born on February 8, 1953 in Newport, Arkansas, USA.

"Melvin and Howard"

After Clara, she played supporting roles in the films "Philadelphia", "Nixon" and the series "The New Joan of Arc" and "Orange is the New Black".

With her husband Ted Danson

A ten-year marriage with a colleague in the industry Malcolm McDowell, despite the birth of two children, ended in divorce. Mary is now married to actor Ted Danson. And a few years ago, a curious story happened to the woman: after minor surgery - an operation on her hand, she suddenly discovered musical abilities. So much so that Mary wrote more than a dozen songs (one was even featured in the 2018 film Wild Rose) and signed a contract with Universal Music.
