StratCom has released a video showing North Korean troops receiving Russian equipment at a Russian training ground. The footage was filmed in the Russian Far East. This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to a corresponding message from the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture on Facebook.

The department says that the footage is no more than 72 hours old. The location of the event is the Sergeyevsky training ground in the Russian Far East.

"Exclusive. How North Korean soldiers are being equipped with Russian equipment," the message says.

What preceded it?

On October 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia was preparing ten thousand North Korean troops for the war in Ukraine, including infantry.

Earlier, the Washington Post wrote that several thousand soldiers from the DPRK were undergoing training in Russia and could be sent to the front in Ukraine.

Recall that in early October, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun said that the DPRK could send its troops to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in support of Russia's war against our country.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrey Kovalenko said that the information about Russia allegedly preparing soldiers from the DPRK to be sent to the front in Ukraine is not true.

On October 15, the media reported that the Russians began to form a so-called "special Buryat battalion" on the basis of the 11th separate airborne assault brigade of the Russian occupation army. It will be staffed with North Korean citizens.

Subsequently, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov said that almost 11 thousand soldiers from North Korea are currently undergoing training in eastern Russia to fight against Ukraine. They will be ready for combat operations as early as November 1.

On Friday, October 18, South Korean President Yun Seok-yul convened an urgent meeting on security issues to discuss the movement of DPRK troops to Russia.
