In Hong Kong, debt collectors scattered money with leaflets to find a debtor
Now the police are looking for the debt collectors.
The debt collectors in Hong Kong have come up with an original way to collect a debt. They scattered about 100 notices with photos and personal information of the debtor around the densely populated area of Sheung Wan, attaching 10 Hong Kong dollars (about 125 rubles) to each of them.
As noted by local media, the new tactic of scattering leaflets with money is not only original, but also economical. The collectors spent 1,000 Hong Kong dollars on this campaign, which was cheaper than hiring people to make annoying calls to the debtor or damage his property.
It is reported that the debtor has also been found. This is a 56-year-old businessman. He brought most of the scattered notices with money to the police department and filed a report. The Criminal Investigation Department of the Central District of Hong Kong has launched an investigation. Investigators are looking for the car from which the cunning debt collectors scattered the notices with money.
