The man became famous for being the longest-living person with progeria. He died at the age of 29. According to official data, there are 130 cases of progeria registered in the world, according to unofficial data - 350. Basso was born in 1995 in the northern Italian region of Veneto. He was diagnosed with progeria at the age of two. Basso gained great fame thanks to the National Geographic documentary "Sammy's Journey".
