Maxus eTerron and e-Deliver 5: the newest electric cars that may appear in Ukraine
New products made their debut at Europe's largest exhibition of commercial vehicles in Hanover. What is pleasant, the organizer of the Maxus stand at IAA Transportation 2024 was the RSA company, which represents the Maxus brand not only in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany and Poland, but also in Ukraine!
As a reminder, Maxus cars officially began to be sold in Ukraine from the beginning of 2023. However, in a short period of time, the still little-known car brand (mainly electric) managed to make a lot of noise, offering officially (!) electric crossovers, premium minibuses, pickup trucks and commercial vehicles of various classes and sizes.
Maxus is one of the leading players in the electric commercial vehicle market. This year at IAA Transportation 2024, the company brought the already well-known e-Deliver 9 and e-Deliver 7 models, as well as two European premieres. For the first time in Europe, Maxus presented the e-Deliver 5 and the electric pickup eTerron.
The eTerron is a rugged and powerful all-wheel drive electric pickup truck with a large battery that provides a long range and high performance.
e-Deliver 5 is a spacious electric van with a minimalist design, impressive range and modern technology.
Maxus eTerron 9
The completely new generation of pickup relies on two electric motors: two synchronous motors with permanent magnets develop 125 kW/170 hp. on the front axle and 200 kW/272 hp. on the rear axle, providing an impressive system output of 325 kW/442 hp. In addition to impressively quick acceleration (5.8 seconds to 100 km/h), this combination also provides a distinctive four-wheel drive that provides excellent traction and excellent off-road performance.
The so-called All-Terrain System (ATS) features six preset driving modes, ranging from Normal to Mud and Sand. In addition, customers can customize a user-defined mode to tailor the steering, engine output and stability response, as well as energy recovery and ride height of the standard air suspension, to their personal preferences. More than 400 different combinations are possible!
Capacity and carrying capacity
Dressed in the "New Electrified Mecha" design language, which creates strong and powerful lines through the interplay of basic geometric shapes, the eTERRON 9 is the perfect companion for commercial customers and private individuals with an active lifestyle.
A car with a length of 5.50 meters provides a maximum payload of 620 kilograms. If longer objects need to be transported, the rear wall of the driver's cabin can be lowered with the push of a button. This creates a cargo area of up to 2.40 meters long, ideal for surfboards and skis, as well as construction and garden supplies.
In addition, there's a 236-litre 'frunk' (front boot) under the hood that can carry weather-protected luggage and accommodates two seats for a break or barbecue while camping. If that's not enough, another key feature of this vehicle is that you can tow up to 3.5 tonnes – the best value for an all-electric pickup in this class.
Sales of eTERRON 9 will start in the 4th quarter of 2024. Will it be possible to buy it in Ukraine? There is no final information yet, but there is a high probability that the European company RSA will work on and probably become the first player in our market to offer an all-wheel drive electric pickup officially!
