Soldiers of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade destroy a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle using a French-German MILAN ATGM
Ukrainian soldiers from the 33rd separate mechanized brigade destroyed two enemy armored vehicles during a "meat" assault on the Kurakhovo direction with the help of the MILAN ATGM. As reported by Censor.NET, a video recording with fragments of the battle with the occupiers was published on social networks.
"Soldiers of the 33rd separate mechanized brigade with a rather rare French-German MILAN ATGM, developed back in the 60s, destroy the enemy's Tsar Tank and BMP during the repulse of a mechanized assault by Russian occupiers on the Kurakhovo direction," the author of the publication notes in the commentary.
MILAN (French Missile dinfanterie leger antichar - light infantry anti-tank missile) is a 2nd generation surface-to-surface guided anti-tank missile from the Franco-German consortium Euromissile. It is in serial production as the main European short-range anti-tank weapon. Since 1977 it has been in service with the Bundeswehr. Together with the American BGM-71 TOW system, it is the most widespread anti-tank missile system in the world. MILAN is used in 40 armies of the world. It is currently being replaced by Trigat and Spike missiles.
