Scorpion Sting Ruins Sex Life of Luxury Hotel Guest (4 photos)
A Las Vegas hotel guest has filed a lawsuit after waking up with a scorpion sting on his groin. The man claims the hotel failed to keep his room clean and safe — leaving him with psychological trauma and erectile dysfunction.
Michael Farchy, 62, claims he woke up in his room at the Venetian Resort Las Vegas in severe pain in December 2023 to find himself stung in the groin by a scorpion. The scorpion also bit him on the arm.
In the lawsuit, Farchi claims the hotel failed to keep the room clean and safe, allowing the venomous and dangerous creatures to show up.
He claims the bite left him with post-traumatic stress disorder and erectile dysfunction, which has affected his family, his job, and his life.
Farchy's wife, Batia, also said the incident had a major impact on their sex life. She claims their sexual relationship suffered significantly after the bite.
Attorney Brian Virag, who is representing Farchy, believes the hotel was aware of the scorpion problem in the rooms but failed to take proper action. He noted that construction work was underway at the time of the incident, which could have triggered the appearance of the deadly creatures.
Farchi is seeking compensation for medical expenses, mental anguish, and loss of quality of life due to the hotel's negligence. The case will be heard in a jury trial. It will be interesting to see what their verdict will be.
