A hotel guest in Las Vegas was stung by a scorpion while sleeping (4 photos)
On December 26, Michael Farchi encountered an intruder in his room at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. While sleeping, the American felt a sharp pain in his groin.
“It felt like someone had stabbed me in the groin,” Farci says of the nightmarish moment when the eight-legged parasite latched onto his testicles.
"It felt like sharp glass or a knife."
A California resident and his family stayed at a luxury hotel where the room rate is about $400 per night.
The man hurried to the bathroom in search of the source of the excruciating pain.
“I went into the toilet and saw a scorpion hanging from my underpants,” he said.
The victim took several pictures of the orange creature hanging from his underwear before heading to the hospital.
“Everyone was in shock, no one believed,” said Michael. “Even I couldn’t believe it.”
The American filed a complaint, and the hotel compensated him for the cost of the room. But now he wants to go to court. It is unknown how the scorpion got into his room in the first place.

A spokesperson for The Venetian said in a statement: "We have protocols in place for any incident and can confirm that in this case they were followed."
