City "Terrorized" by Cat Robbing Other People's Homes to Please Its Owner (4 photos)
So far, the thief has only been caught once, when a neighbor spotted her trying to take a T-shirt from the dryer in the kitchen.
A 12-year-old black and white cat named Taboo has been stealing from residents of Otley, West Yorkshire (UK). The animal brings home gloves, socks, underwear, shoes and other things from other people's houses. Her owner, 62-year-old Sandra Danskin, is forced to regularly post photos of these things on social media so that people can retrieve their lost property.
Sandra, who works night shifts, says the cat is rarely caught and has become a master of her criminal craft.
"Every time I come home, all sorts of things are waiting for me, either pulled through the cat hole or left on the entrance. For example, this morning there were four pairs of socks and a pair of underpants. Although there are much more original finds - a mop head, kitchen rolls and even a tray of chicken eggs. People joke that I should teach her to go to the nearest Rolex watch store," the British woman shares.
Mrs. Danskin believes that Taboo gets into houses if the doors are left open. So far, the cat has only been caught once, when a neighbor noticed her trying to take a T-shirt from the dryer in the kitchen.
"If she brings a sock, she always comes back and gets another one, so she has a pair. Every time she gets something, she sits outside and makes this high-pitched whine to let me know. Now I have a box full of stolen things at home. Every now and then I go on Facebook and post pictures so people can pick them up," the owner of the pet says.
The woman claims that she tried to wean the cat off the bad habit, but all in vain.
