26-year-old Eric Nicholas Gapke, who caused a scandal on board an American Airlines plane, was charged with violating the rules of conduct during a flight from Seattle to Dallas (USA).

According to prosecutors, the passenger smoked electronic cigarettes on the plane, made a lot of noise, disturbed fellow passengers, and also offered one of the flight attendants sex. After being refused, he locked himself in the restroom and tried several times to open the door of the plane while it was in the air.

It is reported that the crew and other passengers had to tie up the offender. Meanwhile, the pilots decided to make an emergency landing at the nearest Salt Lake City airport, where the troublemaker was removed from the plane by local police.



During the arrest, Gapka resisted so much and banged his handcuffs on the window of the pre-trial detention cell that the glass cracked. The inadequate man was taken to the hospital for examination, where he allegedly continued to shout at the medical staff, using obscene language. The arresting officer said he spat in his face.

In addition to the other offenses, Eric Gapka was charged with two more third-degree felonies and a class C misdemeanor. The case is still under investigation, according to the prosecutor's office.
