A new interpretation of the legendary "Gelika" GE 230 (14 photos)
British startup Arcade Cars shared photos and some details of its project, which is based on the classic two-door G-Class GE 230, intended for the Swiss army. They decided to call the G-Class restomod Sojourn.
In addition to the standard restoration work for such projects, the craftsmen from Arcade Cars significantly modify the interior. The utilitarian interior of the 230 is covered with expensive types of leather and Alcantara, a modern head unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support is installed, and a powerful audio system is hidden inside, while trying to preserve the overall appearance of the classic Gelik as much as possible.
The power plant is also not left without attention. The basic version of the engine is the native 2.3-liter 125-horsepower in-line engine. One step higher is the 2.8-liter Mercedes engine with 149 horsepower. Well, the most expensive version of Sojourn is electric. However, the company has not yet announced the characteristics of such a conversion. It is only reported that all work on the installation of electric motors, controllers and batteries will be entrusted to the Everrati company, known for its electric cars based on the classic Porsche 911, Land Rover Defender and even GT40.
The starting price of Sojourn is 130 thousand dollars.
