How a team of detectives in skirts fights infidelity across South America (3 photos + 1 video)

Meet the Phoenix Squad, a team of female detectives from Peru who specialize in fighting infidelity throughout the country and the entire South American region.





This all-female detective agency has been catching cheating wives and husbands for 20 years. The female detectives work tirelessly throughout Lima and other cities in Peru, as well as other countries in South America.

Founder Jessica Melina says they have solved over 10,000 cases in that time, using everything from classic detective work to drone surveillance and tiny hidden cameras.



Jessica Melina says she decided to create her own detective squad, but one that was all women. She found that women were better at this type of work — they could remain undetected, they could hide better, and they could solve problems much faster than men.

Melina says the Phoenix Squad was born out of people's need to gather evidence of their partners' infidelity during divorces and child custody disputes.



One of the agency's employees, Ada Hinostroza, explains that each case is individual, but in simple situations the team manages to obtain the necessary evidence in just a few hours. Their record is solving an infidelity case in just 4 hours.

Interestingly, according to data collected by the Phoenix Squad over the past 20 years, women are much more likely to cheat on their partners than men. Detective Liz Rodriguez claims that 70% of the cases they handle involve unfaithful women, while only 30% of such cases involve men. Jessica Melina herself also notes that over the past two years, out of the 10 cases she has investigated per week, 8 have been related to women's infidelity.

Although it is technically a job, members of the Phoenix Squad consider themselves defenders of fidelity, tracking down cheating men and women all over Peru. And they are very proud of their work.
