A warehouse with pyrotechnics exploded in Bulgaria (2 photos + 2 videos)
A fire broke out in the warehouse, after which the pyrotechnics began to detonate. And there is a lot of it there - about two tons in TNT equivalent.
The emergency occurred yesterday evening. The warehouse, which is located near the road connecting the city of Elin Pelin and the village of Gara-Elin Pelin, first caught fire, and then explosions began there. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the accident happened after the end of the working day. According to some reports, something went wrong during the transportation of the pyrotechnic equipment.
As a result, a fire broke out, people were injured. It is known that at least two warehouse employees received third-degree burns, but, as local TV reports, there were probably more workers in the warehouse, their exact number is still unknown.
The moment of the explosion was caught on video
Due to the dangerous proximity of the warehouse to the village, residents were evacuated from it, and the explosions continued all night, albeit with less intensity. It is reported that three months ago, an inspection was carried out at the warehouses, which did not reveal any violations.
Authorities fear that evacuated people will return home and find themselves in a dangerous situation, as explosions continue and they could affect the largest pyrotechnics warehouse that has not yet burned.
