Even before the European Football Championship final, a fan dedicated a tattoo to the victory of the England team. Dan Thomas, 29, from Swindon, Wiltshire, had the trophy and the phrase "England Euro 2024 winners" tattooed on his hip.
The Spanish team defeated the British with a score of 2:1.
However, the Briton is not going to remove or cover up the tattoo.
According to him, the Three Lions will win the Euro in 2028, and that's when he will fix the 4 vs 8.
Thomas, a data analyst, explained: "We came close to winning and I don't regret the tattoo. I don't think it will be hard to turn a B into an eight in four years. I have absolutely no regrets, I still love it."
Reflecting on the final, he said it was "bittersweet" and praised Southgate's men: "The result wasn't what we wanted, but it's a great achievement to reach another final."
"It's only a matter of time before we win. I thought England played well. I would say [Mark] Gehi was the highlight of the final match, but [Kobby] Mainu was the best player of the whole tournament."
Dan encourages fans to follow his example and get tattoos in support of the national team before the start of the next tournament.
He said: "I don't really pay attention to comments about my tattoo. I don't care what other people think."
