Всупереч поширеній думці, кобра дуже рідко кусає людину.

У цієї змії дуже слабкі зуби, і за укусу вони легко ламаються, після чого кобра вимушено тримає двомісячний пост. А так вона не оцінює людину як кормовий об'єкт і кусає, тільки якщо їй завдано біль.

До речі, у неволі кобр зазвичай годують гоголь-моголем – сумішшю молока та сирих яєць. Після годування ще треба помасувати черевце, щоб не зригнула.
