Pamela Anderson has joined the cast of the new version of The Naked Gun. She will be accompanied by Liam Neeson. The crime comedy will premiere on July 18, 2025.
Neeson, 71, will play hapless cop Frank Drebin, and Anderson, 56, will play his lover.
The first film of the trilogy was released in 1988, the script was written by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker. It became a continuation of the series "Police Squad!"
All three films starred Leslie Nielsen in the title role of Frank Drebin. The actor died in 2010 at the age of 84.
It is not yet known who will play the role of Drebin's partner Nordberg, who was portrayed by the late O.J. Simpson.
The film is written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand and directed by Akiva Shaffer.
The trio previously worked on the Emmy Award-winning Disney film Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers.
Anderson is no stranger to starring in remakes. In 2017, she appeared in Baywatch as C.J. Parker, a character she portrayed for 110 episodes of the 1989 series. Her costars included Zac Efron, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Alexandra Daddario.
She returned to the spotlight in 2022 with the release of the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy, which focused on her tumultuous relationship with Tommy Lee.
The actress did not agree with the story shown and released a refutation - the Netflix documentary "Pamela, a Love Story" starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan.
