House from The Godfather and Beyoncé's film sells for $89 million (17 photos)
Perhaps nowhere in the world are there such luxurious homes as in Beverly Hills: there you can find a whole sea of mansions worth billions of dollars. One of them is the Hearst estate, where The Godfather and Beyoncé's visual album Black is King were filmed. The home recently returned to the market, and now some lucky guy will own this legendary place - for just $89,750,000.
Famed architect Gordon Kaufman built this stunning Mediterranean-style home for banker Milton Getz in 1927. In 1947, famous actress Marion Davies purchased the mansion for her husband, Willam Hearst. The legendary estate covers 29,000 acres of land. The main house has eight bedrooms and twice as many bathrooms, plus lush hand-painted ceilings, a two-story library and even a nightclub with a bar themed after Hugh Hefner's old club, Touch. The surprises don’t end there: behind the mansion there are two guest houses that occupy 3.5 hectares.
However, what attracts potential buyers most is the mansion's many appearances on the big screen. How can we forget the iconic scene from The Godfather when Vito Corleone's adversary discovered a horse's head in his bed? Or the house's more recent appearance in Beyoncé's 2020 visual album Black is King? And another fun fact: before John F. Kennedy was assassinated, he and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned at the mansion in 1957. With such and such a biography, there are sure to be rich people who will gladly pay to live in such an iconic estate.

The mansion's soon-to-be former owner, Leonard M. Ross, is forced to sell the house: he was forced to declare bankruptcy due to the value of the estate. He tried to sell it in 2016 for a whopping $195 million, but was unsuccessful. As a result, Ross accumulated $50 million in debt. The home's lender, Fortress Investment Group, obtained court permission to force the sale.
