Pet store owners rescued a stray cat and now she lives in a shopping center (11 photos)

Visitors to the Santafe shopping center in Medellin (Colombia) are very lucky: while shopping, they can pet an adorable black and white cat named Cristal. This cat got here by chance, but eventually became a symbol of the shopping center. Both sellers and buyers love her.





Meet Crystal, a former street cat who now lives like a queen.



Crystal didn't have the best start in life - she lived on the streets. In 2018, she gave birth to kittens and she and the babies were picked up by animal shelter staff. All the kittens quickly found owners, and then Crystal herself was lucky - her shiny fur and green eyes charmed the owners of the Patas Parriba pet supply store, and they took her home.





The pet store was located in a shopping center, and Crystal was allowed to explore her new home in its entirety, down to every nook and cranny. How many domestic cats can boast that they are completely in charge and walk on their own over such a large territory?



The new owners installed a cat litter box and food bowls for Crystal inside the store so that the new family member would be provided with everything he needed at any time. Luckily, Crystal settled into her new life very quickly.



Shortly after being taken in by the owners of a pet supply store, Crystal began wandering around outside the store, much to the amusement of shoppers and mall employees.



“Crystal quickly adapted to the shopping center,” said her owner Luciana. “We realized she liked being petted by customers, and she was comfortable leaving the store and walking around the rest of the building.”



Soon the cute kitty had fans - I wonder how many people came into the store just for the opportunity to say hello to Crystal? When she wasn't purring or rubbing up against shoppers, she wandered around the mall, laying on the couches in the seating areas and checking on people in nearby stores to make sure everything was okay.

“I love visiting my neighbor friends, checking out everything I can get my hands on, and most of all I love playing in the plants,” Krystal shared on Instagram. Who would have thought that cats could use social networks? — I love climbing trees and discovering something new. Every day I make new plans. But one of my favorite things to do is run up the stairs and relax on the furniture. And I also love it when people come to visit me.”



Crystal has become the unofficial mascot of the Santafe shopping center, bringing joy to all shoppers and employees. Unfortunately, this year the owners of the Patas Parriba store decided to move to an open-air shopping center. They wanted to take Crystal with them, but a new place near busy roads turned out to be too dangerous for this freedom-loving cat. So I had to do what was best for her.



Krystal's owners spoke with the mall staff, who immediately agreed to adopt the cat so she could stay at the mall and receive the royal treatment she was accustomed to.



“We decided that the mall would accommodate her because it would be best for her,” Luciana shared with Krystal’s fans. “It’s spacious here, she feels very good.” The mall staff takes care of her and ensures her safety. We receive photos and updates about her every day."



Despite the move, the Patas Parriba family visits Krystal at least once a week - who can live without her hugs?! The new caregivers happily share numerous photos and updates about Crystal. Everyone around her is making sure she is safe and happy. In response, she purrs affectionately, attracting buyers.

Why go shopping at a boring mall when you can shop at a mall with purring staff like this?
