The most unlucky Chinese thief, who is even a pity (6 photos)
A Chinese man bought a super-realistic old man mask to commit a robbery. He thought of everything: in China, cameras everywhere read the face, so he needs a real face that cannot be found in databases and tracked down. A face that can be “thrown off.” But yes, he miscalculated, but where?!
Pretty similar, especially on a camera with poor resolution
Chinese scam in the spirit of Tom Cruise
On March 6 in Shanghai, someone destroyed four apartments on the first floor of a residential complex. The criminal got in through a window and stole money and valuables worth 100,000 yuan ($12,000).
The police looked at the camera footage (and in China there are cameras everywhere, and the police have access to them - this is terribly convenient for finding petty criminals, we would like that), and saw on them an elderly man who was committing a break-in.
The thief himself is much younger than his fake identity, the first identity-stealing criminal of the cyber world of the future!
In one of the burglarized apartments, the police found evidence that led them to the criminal. It turned out that living at the suspect’s address was not the old man on the cameras, but a 40-year-old man. There would be some intrigue here...
If only the criminal had remembered to throw away the silicone mask! The police found it right there in his apartment and put two and two together. And the mask even turned out to be not particularly expensive and “humane”, but it was enough for cameras with poor resolution to pass for a real old man.
Do you remember this shot from Mission: Impossible?
True, the Chinese police do not say what exactly “turned in” the criminal, so that other thieves do not take note of his mistakes. Many assume that he was simply tracked using a SIM card, which since Covid times has helped track a person’s location. Then this rule was introduced to monitor curfew violations. They introduced it then, but after the pandemic they didn’t cancel it; it’s convenient to keep track of everyone.
By the way, the false old man did not have time to sell the things, so they returned to their owners.
This mask will cost you twenty dollars on Ali, it’s even cheaper in China
The would-be thief and the story of his ridiculous attempts
Buying a mask for a brilliant theft and burning himself to death with it in his hands is not the only failure of the thief surnamed Tong. When the Chinese found out about his failure, they were so amused by it that people on the Internet dug up everything about him - purchase history, past arrests and arrests.
And here they are - just a poem of failures of a man who dreamed of becoming a criminal, but who had no talent for it.
Public shaming is still practiced in China. Officials deserve to go to prison, but the people themselves disgrace the small ones, sometimes even without the police. Well, or hits.
In November 2023, a man was arrested for snoring loudly... during a burglary! He followed the owner of the apartment when he was at work, broke into his house, but got tired during the robbery and lay down to sleep. Vigilant neighbors called the police because of snoring!
And 10 years ago, Tong was caught for laughing... yes, yes, again during a break-in. He robbed an apartment on the first floor while the owner was on the second. But there was a comedy show on TV, so the criminal laughed loudly at the jokes, which gave himself away.
Well, a person is not attracted to a normal job, he may wither away, even if he earns more at another job
A person has no talent for crime, but he has a dream. I even feel a little sorry for him, the wretched one, he’s trying so hard.
