What breed do you think is at the top of the list of the friendliest dog breeds? Labradors, shepherds, spaniels, chihuahuas? But no! Research by scientists from the University of Helsinki has shown that the most sociable and friendly dog breed... is the bull terrier! Yes, yes, those same evil killers and devourers of innocent souls!

Boss, stop taking pictures where I'm supposedly a monster ripper...

The English Bull Terrier is one of the most controversial breeds. There are probably no other dogs in the world that are equally loved and hated at the same time. The owners consider them the best watchdogs in the world, and everyone else, when they see a bull terrier, crosses to the other side of the street and mutters something about a hundred thousand atmospheres in their jaws.

And you call me a fighter?

Because speaking louder is scary. What if the owner doesn’t keep this monster?! So today we will try to at least a little dispel a bunch of unfair prejudices.

When you try to be nice, but they call you a child killer and destroyer of all things.

The most important thing: many times fewer people suffer from the teeth of bull terriers than from the same shepherd dogs. If you delve deeper into the breed's roots, you can find Old English Bulldogs and Terriers. They were crossed with each other to produce an effective fighter. But the resulting dog had to fight not with a person, but with various animals in the arenas. Aggression towards people in the breed was eradicated at any time! The breed was not used in wars; the dogs were not trained for generations to protect their owner with their teeth.

What could be better than having one bull terrier? Get two!

After the ban on dog fighting, bull terriers were retrained from fighters into companions. And this happened right at the beginning of the 20th century! For a hundred years now, dogs have been crushing sofas, not other animals. Dalmatians, pointers, greyhounds and some other breeds took part in further selection to improve their appearance and correct animal aggression in behavior. It was at this time that bull terriers acquired their famous egg-shaped head with small triangular eyes.

How in childhood we transmitted a cool picture via infrared.

But the most important change concerned character. It can be described in one very succinct phrase: “the circus left, but the clowns remained.” And in a good sense of the word! These Bobbies are real fun guys. Your smile, love and affection are important to them - for this, the boobies will do any kind of crazy things. If only they were noticed!

Every day there are circus performances just for you!

At the same time, they have both intelligence and cunning. Buns learn commands well and are even better at manipulating their owners in every possible way to avoid their execution. Therefore, before you get your own bull terrier, you should get to know other people’s bull terriers better. Take a walk, for example, with one of the owners you know or ask to meet the animal at the dog park. After all, reading and knowing about the cheerfully reckless character of dogs is one thing, but living side by side with a creature that has such a character is completely different.
