50 shades of mommy beige (13 photos + 1 video)

Home is where we spend a lot of time and how it looks is very important. What kind of furniture, what color of walls, what kind of windows and floors. But for some it has crossed all boundaries.

Remember how in the late 90s - early 2000s those houses that had more stucco, crystal chandeliers, Louis XIV style furniture and other gold toilets were considered chic and rich. Rarely did anyone manage to make such a house pleasing to the eye; it was more reminiscent of something that is now called “gypsy chic.” But over time, the world has changed and the rules in it have also changed.

Well, for example this...

Nowadays, restraint a la Steve Jobs and his usual jeans and turtlenecks is considered a sign of wealth. Minimalism has firmly entered our lives, pushing aside sideboards with endless crystal, Madonna dinnerware sets and porcelain elephants (remember those?). First, foreign celebrities, and after them the rest, began to lean toward restraint in the colors of the decor. Yes, “gypsy chic” can still be found among the stars today, but minimalism is beginning to take over.

Or something like this...

All this led to such a phenomenon as “beige moms”. They not only create an atmosphere in the apartment of all possible shades of beige, but also immerse the child in this absence of, as they call it, “visual noise.” But they are criticized not only by ordinary Internet users, but also by pediatricians.

Classic nursery "beige mommy"

No matter how much moms (and many dads too) would like to surround themselves with “natural” colors, the whole point is that the child needs bright colors. Many studies have been conducted, thanks to which we now know that at first it is easier for the baby to perceive the black and white combination. This calms the baby and increases his attention. Therefore, it is better to choose a mobile for the crib with toys in black and white colors.

As the baby grows up, it is the bright color that will attract and delight. There are even recommendations for choosing a rattle-garland: in the middle there is a red color, and on both sides of it there should be orange, yellow, green and blue colors in order. The cones in the child's retina are arranged like this: red in the center and blue in the periphery.

The baby's nervous system requires energy exposure from the long-wave part of the spectrum. Bright and light shades are needed by the central nervous system. These are something like vitamins, and in order to avoid color “vitaminosis,” the baby’s visual life needs to be surrounded with bright toys, books, markers, and clothes. The child will not have “color starvation” and his neuropsychic development will not be delayed or distorted.

But “beige mothers” try to buy their children everything, from dishes to clothes, in cream, white, dusty pink or dusty blue shades. If there are toys, then only wooden ones. They even buy cribs in muted colors or even unpainted wood, in the Ikea style.

I have to admit - it looks nice

Thus, as the “beige parents” themselves say, they try to distance themselves from the world around them with endless visual noise and create some kind of island of calm.

And everything would be fine, the beige style has the right to life among adults, it’s even cute and really calming. But no one is thinking about children at this moment.

Here a girl shows a store where an extremely dull set of educational toys is offered for very young children.

Some Internet users slightly changed the wording by adding the adjective sad. And this is how sad beige moms turned out - “sad beige mothers”. Many people think that this aesthetic is rather dreary. Well, stores follow trends and now in children's departments it is easier to find all shades of light and calm tones than something bright, and such things are often more expensive than usual. And as we know, even without any aesthetics, for rapidly growing children, you need plenty of money.

This is the photo one “beige mom” posted, boasting about how she magically transformed her children’s Christmas tree. She received a lot of criticism in the comments for ruining a normal toy for children

Despite the fact that many on the Internet have already started making parodies of “beige mothers,” the fashion for calm and boring colors for the nursery still remains in trend. Everything from cribs to clothes in subdued colors is actively being bought and sold. I wonder what the children of such aesthetic mothers will grow up to be...?

Here are a few more photos from the trend of such peaceful parents

As I understand it, a child should not jump in any puddle or fight with nettles.

As usual, they try to dress the “beige baby”

What bright costumes there are...

Flowers..?

Isn’t there such a thing that next to the changing table, and indeed in the nursery, you shouldn’t keep plants that a “sad beige child” can reach?
