Toffee is a tasty and natural delicacy made from milk and sugar, similar to toffee. This man can easily be compared to such a dessert, since he easily spit out any gum or toffee, amazing those around him with his amazing abilities, which were a mixture of physiology and artistry.

James Morris was born in Copenhagen, New York in 1859. And from his youth he used his unique talent to amuse friends and colleagues. His ability to stretch skin up to 40 centimeters from his body without experiencing much pain made the guy incredibly popular among officers when he entered military service. These officers invited reporters and journalists to witness Morris' unusual talent. After publications, he began to be invited to circuses and shows. By 1885, he was actively traveling the world and joined the Barnum and Bailey Circus.

He performed with him throughout North America and Europe, and in 1898 Scientific America magazine dedicated an article to Morris, describing him as the “Rubber Man.” For publication, he pulled the skin of his neck over his head, making it look like an elephant's trunk.

The so-called rubber people mostly suffered from a condition known as cutis hyperelastica or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). This syndrome leads to disruption of collagen synthesis, which in turn causes excessive extensibility and elasticity, fragility and softness of the skin, which easily forms scars.

Although Morris made good money in his first season with Barnum and Bailey, his popularity quickly waned. And because of his addiction to alcohol and gambling, he took a second job as a hairdresser, opening a salon in New York.

By the beginning of the 20th century, Morris had disappeared from radar, and it is unknown how long he lived. Many patients with EDS develop life-threatening complications by age 40. So, unfortunately, it is unlikely that the life of the amazing Rubber Man was long.
