The famous company Mattel made a valuable gift to 78-year-old actress Helen Mirren - a Barbie doll made in her honor. The gift was timed to coincide with International Women's Day and the 65th anniversary of the famous doll.





In honor of Barbie's 65th birthday on International Women's Day, Mattel has released a doll replica of actress Helen Mirren. The 78-year-old actress's career spans 60 years: she is the winner of numerous awards, including an Oscar for her performance as Queen Elizabeth in the TV series Elizabeth I (2005). Her doll also holds this mini-figurine in her hands, and she has blue hair: this is the look Mirren wore on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.



"I am delighted with my Barbie doll. Receiving such a gift is incredibly nice. I would never have thought that this could happen to me at this stage of my life. This is a special event that I can add to the list of my main achievements: the status of a lady “Commander of the Order of the British Empire, an Oscar, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and now my own Barbie!” the actress shared.





Helen Mirren was one of eight women in whose honor Mattel made dolls for the holiday. All of these women made important contributions and influenced the world. Among them: Maira Gomez (a representative of the indigenous Tatuyo ethnic group in Brazil, blogger), Viola Davis (actress and producer), Nicole Fujita (Japanese model), Shania Twain (Canadian singer), Enissa Amani (Iranian-German comedian, artist and activist), singer Kylie Minogue, and Lila Aviles (Mexican film director, actress).
