For BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and other well-known brands, everything is made in Ukraine - from wiring and harnesses to complex electronics and body parts. But there is a nuance - this was the case until February 24, 2022, at the moment a lot of staff has been cut at these plants...

It is not known for sure what number of employees we are talking about, however, due to the invasion of Russia, unfortunately, highly qualified personnel remained without work. In addition, they had a fairly decent salary, because almost all these enterprises have foreign investments. Which factories are we talking about? TopZhyr talked about them back in 2015, but a recent video with Ukrainian parts in Lamborghini prompted us to remind us about factories in Ukraine, which produce auto parts and parts for foreign supercars and not only.



Ukraine produces small parts for almost all European cars, including premium brands. It is mainly about details that require a large amount of manual work, for example, laying cable networks or sewing car seats. According to Ernst & Young, in 2021, 22 global and regional manufacturers in the field of auto parts worked in Ukraine. About 60,000 jobs have been created at these enterprises, and the total number of investments in the sector is 400-800 million euros.





The main part of foreign companies producing auto components is concentrated in Western Ukraine. This choice of the region is primarily due to its logistical proximity to end consumers. Here is the list of enterprises:

The Japanese company Fujikura specializes in the production of cable products for cars of the German concern Volkswagen Group, including for Porsche and MAN.

Bader and Aunde: tailoring of seat covers for Audi, Mercedes and BMW, in particular for Mercedes-Benz S-class and Maybach. Among the company's clients is Tesla!

VET AUTOMOTIVE manufactures electronic seat heating systems, touch sensors and automotive cables for Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Opel, Volkswagen

The German company LEONI manufactures cable networks for Opel, Porsche, Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini and MAN.

The French concern Nexans manufactures cable networks for BMW, Opel, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche.

Kromberg & Schubert manufactures electrical on-board wiring systems for BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Volkswagen vehicles.

ODW-Elektrik manufactures cables for Volkswagen, BMW, Porsche, Volvo, Opel cars, magnetic coils, electromechanical structures for cars and motor tools.

A factory of the German company Kostal, specializing in the production of automotive electronics, operates in the Kyiv region. Steering columns, switches, contact systems for Ford, DAG, Audi, VW, Renault, Lamborghini, BMW, SEAT and Skoda are made here.
